This holiday season, more families can look forward to homes of their own thanks to premium chocolate-maker Ferrero USA's $100,000 donation to Habitat for Humanity.
And one lucky fashionista will add Evan Lysacek's first-ever design effort to her collection, courtesy of an auction beginning next week at www.FerreroChocolatesUSA.com.

"I'm thrilled to be able to take my fashion sense from the rink to the runway," the Olympic champion said of the holiday gown he created, inspired by Ferrero chocolates' signature festive wrapping.

Mark Crozet, senior vice president of resource development for Habitat for Humanity International, explained the not-for-profit's model is to provide families with a hand up, not just a hand out.

The gold and chocolate-colored creation was a fun challenge for the skater, known for his keen interest in fashion and avant-garde costumes designed by Vera Wang, who was on hand to view the gown at an unveiling party last night.

"Obviously the dress is created for Ferrero, and they wanted it to represent their iconic chocolate, because it's kind of the classic holiday indulgence," Lysacek said.

"I drew inspiration from that; the color scheme is obviously similar to the wrapper and the chocolate, and the layering of the skirt [is similar]. At the same time, I wanted it to be a fun dress that could be worn by anyone, in any age group. It's going up for auction, and it has to be versatile."
