Clarifying his situation in a Thursday morning interview with the Tribune, Olympic figure skating champion Evan Lysacek said he will not compete any more in 2010 but left open the possibility of skating at the 2011 U.S. Championships and trying for the 2014 Olympics.

Since then, Plushenko has been declared ineligible for violating an International Skating Union rule by not seeking approval to perform in an ice show after withdrawing from the 2010 world championships.

Lysacek, 25, recently moved from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, where he has owned a house for a couple years. That created distance between him and his coach, Frank Carroll, who is about to start working at a new rink in Cathedral City, near Carroll's long-time residence in Palm Springs.
