Stars on Ice - RS: The world was so different way back then, with the Iron Curtain, and Katerina Witt was from East Germany. Competing against her was very intimidating because of her stern and determined demeanor. We became very good friends when we toured together on Stars on Ice, after our competing days were over.

Stars on Ice - RS: The girls now are so much more athletic than we were, doing so many more triples. I'm so glad I retired when I did. ;) Phew.

今は私達の頃より女子選手はすごく運動能力が発達してるわね、何回もトリプルジャンプをやるし。私は自分が選手だった時代に引退できてよかったわ。ほっ！（笑）。

When were training for the Olympics what was your typical diet?

Stars on Ice - EL: I got very strict with my diet, in the seven to eight months leading up to Vancouver. I would eat 10 servings of fruit and vegetables a day, two eggs poached in the morning, a handful of raw almonds as one snack, and one muscle milk shake for lunch, and a light dinner with some protein. Sounds miserable but after the Olympics, when I could eat anything I wanted, I only craved fruit and vegetables and this diet.

Stars on Ice - RS: Other than the fish and chips that I had with Evan today (EL: I had salmon), I usually maintain a strict low-carb diet. It just works for me, and because of my discipline, I can maintain it. It especially works because I don't want to work out. ;)
