Lysacek delivered a solid performance to “Sheherazade” that included a two triple Axels (one in combination with a double toe), a triple Lutz-triple toeloop as well as three more triples, but the triple flip was cheated and downgraded. The World Champion was awarded a level four for his spins and a level three for the circular step sequence to score 151.37 points (72.87/78.50). Overall he moved up from third to second at 232.17 points. “I felt nervous tonight and I think that was stemming from how much I really like and care about (this program) and the amount of training that has gone into this program and I’m really happy with this starting point for this season. I think as the year progresses towards the Olympics this program is going to turn into something even better”, Lysacek said. “I look forward to Skate America and hopefully improving on this performance.”
